I’d love to see a lower-cost option for businesses that only need one additional manually maintained locale.
I’m building a website for a small Canadian travel agency and need both English and French. In Canada, these are our two official languages, so French isn’t a separate international market for me. It’s simply part of serving the same Canadian market properly.
I’ve already translated all of the French content myself, so I don’t need AI translation or automated translation tools. The current US$20/month cost for one additional locale feels pretty steep in that situation, especially when the locale costs more than the Basic site plan itself.
I understand that localization includes infrastructure beyond translation, but I think a more affordable single-locale tier for manually maintained content would make a lot of sense, especially for businesses operating in bilingual countries like Canada.
